COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The U.S. Women's Field Hockey Team made a special visit to Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
The team made a stop at Steele Elementary School on their way to the Pan American Games, which will be held in Mexico in October.
Different members from the team spoke about their experiences as a field hockey team and what it meant to them. Their talks even included demonstrations of their sport, followed by a team scrimmage game.
They hope to inspire students to continue working hard and to set and achieve goals. Lauren Crandall is the captain of the team.
"It's good to have goals and dreams," she says. "If they work hard, do the right thing, then they can achieve them."
Most of the team had never done a school presentation before. The school dressed in red and blue to show support for the team. They school also prepared a song to send them off to Mexico.
The team will win a spot in the Olympics depending on their performance at the Pan Am Games.
