Man pours lighter fluid on hotel clerk

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police are looking for a man who tried to light a local hotel clerk on fire overnight.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Clarion Hotel on W. Bijou Street.

Police said the man took cash from the hotel lobby, doused the clerk with lighter fluid, and then tried unsuccessfully to light the employee on fire.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40's, 5'11-6'1", around 180 lbs, with a scruffy beard and bumps on his face.

He was dressed in nice clothes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 444-7000.
