COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man Monday night who is accused of lighting his apartment carpet on fire following an eviction notice earlier that day.

According to officers, 31-year-old Domonic Krause was served an eviction notice Monday afternoon at the Fountain Villas Apartments in the 1200 block of South Chelton Road.

Investigators found Krause had lit carpet on fire in the third floor hallway, and firefighters found the burned area when they arrived.

Krause struggled with officers when they tried to arrest him. They also found a clear glass pipe commonly used for smoking drugs.

They eventually detained him and said he will be charged with attempted first degree arson, fourth degree arson endangerment, obstructing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
