PUEBLO, COLO. -- Burglaries on Pueblo’s north end have decreased dramatically in the last month.

This, after a mother/son team, responsible for 11 burglaries, was caught on Feb. 4.

Pueblo Police said burglaries in North Pueblo went down 34 percent following the capture of 18-year-old Emmanuel Gallegos and his mother 33-year-old Jamie Gallegos.

It was Feb. 4, when police responded to a burglary in the 2500 block of North Greenwood. At the home, police chased Emmanuel and with the help of neighbors, were able to catch him. He was charged with burglary.

Investigation, including multiple search warrants, linked Emmanuel to 11 burglaries on Pueblo’s north side.

Emmanuel’s mother, Jaime, was identified as his accomplice. She was also charged.

Police said solving this case meant the recovery of more than $2,000 in jewelry.
