COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police are searching for the two suspects who forced a man to the ground during an armed robbery Monday evening.

At about 7:30 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of South Circle Drive, near Airport Road, on the report of an armed robbery.

Police said a 47-year-old man had pulled into an apartment complex parking lot in the area when two men approached him.

One of the suspects, who was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, ordered the man to the ground while pointing a gun at him, police said.

The man laid on the ground and police said the suspects took two blue backpacks from the back of the victim’s SUV.

One of the suspects was seen running northwest from the apartment complex. Police said the other suspect possibly ran into the Timbers Apartment complex.

The suspect who was holding the gun was described as a black man about 20-25 years old and six feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark colored jeans.

Police said the second suspect was an unknown race and was wearing dark clothing.

Any information on this robbery can be reported to police at 444-7000.
