COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two juveniles were taken into custody after hitting a Colorado College Security Officer in a golf cart with a stolen vehicle Sunday morning, according to police.

Police were originally dispatched to the area of Interstate 25 and Rockrimmon Boulevard at about 9:30 a.m., on the report of a stolen vehicle out of the Denver area.

The vehicle was spotted in the downtown area. Police tried to stop the vehicle but it fled northbound on Cascade Avenue

As the vehicle turned eastbound on Uintah Street, it struck a Colorado College golf cart that was on the right turn median, police said.

A Colorado College Security Officer was in the golf cart when it was struck. He was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, according to police, abandoned the vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

He, along with another juvenile male, both from the Denver area, was taken into custody.
