Get ready to have some more daylight!

It's time to 'Spring Forward' as Daylight Saving Time starts early Sunday morning at 2.

Unfortunately, because the time jumps ahead an hour, we all lose an hour of sleep.

Daylight Saving Time originally started in an effort to help people conserve fuel and electricity. Newer studies have found that the time change does not dramatically help conservation efforts.

The time change started when the Standard Time Act was enacted in 1918.

In 2007, Daylight Saving Time moved to start on the second Sunday of March. It now ends the first Sunday of November. This year it ends Nov. 3 .

Not every state or city participates in time changes. Recently, some states have considered legislation to abolish the time change.

Officials remind people to change out their smoke detector batteries when the time changes.
