PUEBLO WEST, COLO. -- A crash Friday night in Pueblo West has claimed one life.

It happened just after 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 50 and Purcell Boulevard.

The Colorado State Patrol said a Dodge neon was heading north on Purcell when the driver, 36-year-old Valerie Taylor, ran a red light at Highway 50 and hit a Jeep grand cherokee driven by 28-year-old Zane Mumma.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene, while her 15-month-old passenger and Mumma, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said alcohol and speed did not contribute to the crash.
