Police: Intoxicated man hit by vehicle

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man broke his leg and numerous ribs after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday evening.

The man, according to police, was under the influence of an unknown alcoholic beverage. He was crossing from east to west at South Tejon Street just south of the East Brookside Street, police said.

There was not a crosswalk where the man crossed and a southbound vehicle struck him, police said.

The man was transported to Memorial Hospital where he he was treated for a broken leg, numerous broken ribs and other non-life threatening injuries.
