Authorities: House fire started by kid playing with matches

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A house fire Sunday evening was started by a kid apparently playing with matches, according to authorities.

The fire happened Sunday at about 8:30 at a home in the 1300 block of Delaware Drive. Authorities said everyone was able to escape the home.

Investigation found that  ajuvenile male was apparently playing with matches and caught a bedroom in the home on fire.

One woman was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. She was later released.

Officials said there was significant smoke and fire damage to the bedroom but there was no structure damage.

The juvenile was charged with Arson in the 4th Degree. He was released to his mother.
