COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two armed men demanded money and punched a man while he was sitting in his car at a Colorado Springs Sonic late Tuesday evening, according to police.
Police said the victim was alone and sitting in his car at the Sonic in the 600 block of South 8th Street at about 9:50 p.m., Tuesday when two men approached him.
One of the men, according to police, produced a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money. The victim told the man that he did not have money. That's when the second suspect opened the driver's door, reached across the victim and grabbed a cell phone. police said.
The victim then pushed the suspect, police said. The suspect with the gun punched the victim in the eye, according to police.
Police said the suspcts fled on foot toward the east. Officers searched the area and containment was quickly set.
The robbers were not caught.
