PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- A man is being held in Oklahoma in connection with the shooting deaths of two people in Monte Vista, Colo., last year.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports 41-year-old Daniel Bessey has been booked into the Beckham County Detention Center in Oklahoma. He is being held in connection with the deaths of 54-year-old elementary school custodian John Salazar and 29-year-old Sarah Beasley, who shared a home with Salazar.

Prosecutors say Bessey had once been in a relationship with Beasley and was living in Saguache, south of Monte Vista, at the time of the shootings.
