Denver--Governor John Hickenlooper is asking Colorado residents to observe a moment of silence this Friday to remember the 26 people killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

According to state officials, Hickenlooper and governors across the country are calling for the moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. local time, the same hour the shooting happened last Friday in Connecticut.

Hickenlooper is also urging government buildings and places of worship to ring bells 26 times, to remember the victims killed in the tragedy.
