A Ft. Carson soldier has been arrested for sexually assaulting an 8 year old girl more than two and a half years ago.
The Fremont County Sheriffs Office says 40 year old Erik Jeske is accused of assaulting the girl in Penrose in March 2010. Jeske, who was the victims neighbor, was visiting the girls stepfather the night the assault happened. A few days later, Jeske allegedly threatened the girls 15 year old stepbrother with a life in an unrelated incident at Jeske's home.
Fremont County sheriff's office says they did not learn of the incidents until July 2011, and that Jeske was deployed to Afghanistan when the investigation was underway. When he returned from deployment, he was arrested by Ft Carson police on December 13, 2012. He is being held in the Fremont County Detention Center $50,000 bond, charged with sexual assault and felony menacing.
