Navy seal killed while rescuing Springs doctor identified

The military has identified the Navy seal killed in Afghanistan while rescuing an American doctor from Colorado Springs.

The Pentagon said Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas Checque of Pennsylvania died from combat-related injuries in the rescue operation over the weekend.

Dr. Dilip Joseph of Colorado Springs was held captive by the Taliban for days.

Checque, who was 28, belonged to Navy Seal Team 6.
