Victim recovering after being shot at Pine Creek Apartments

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A shooting victim is recovering after being shot late Tuesday night.

Colorado Springs police were called to the Pine Creek Apartments in the 800 Block of Chapman Dr. around 10 p.m. to investigate several reports of shots fired. But, when officers arrived at the scene they were unable to locate any victims.

Then, around 10:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to Memorial Hospital to contact a victim who had arrived there with a single gunshot wound.

The victim told police they had been shot while in the parking lot of the Pine Creek Apartments. Officers returned to the apartment complex and found several empty shell casings in the parking lot.

The victim is hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information at this time.
