(AP) -- ESTES PARK, Colo.  -- High winds and dry conditions have prompted fire officials in the Estes Park area and Boulder County to impose fire bans.

The bans Monday came the same day a fire destroyed two summer cabins at Red Feather Lakes and prompted more than 360 emergency notifications telling residents to leave. A propane tank near one of the cabins exploded and damaged a building across the street.

The fire was quickly controlled, and residents were allowed to return.

Meanwhile about 250 firefighters are working to contain the 4,400-acre Fern Lake Fire in Rocky Mountain National Park.

That fire has been burning for nearly two months, but strong winds spread it over the weekend, prompting hundreds of evacuation and pre-evacuation notices to residents near the park. The fire is 20 percent contained.
