Two arrested for burglary in Waldo Canyon burn area

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested two men for burglarizing a home in the Waldo Canyon Fire burn area.

Investigators followed up on a lead and found items from a burglary in 31-year-old David Town's home Tuesday. Through further investigation, they learned 19-year-old Alexis Mendez was also involved.

Mendez was locked up on unrelated charges and admitted to committing the burglary.

Officers said the two are persons of interest in other burn zone burglaries but haven't linked them to additional crimes.
