Red light runners sprint from truck after crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The driver and passenger of a truck that ran a red light and crashed into a car early Wednesday morning were caught by Colorado Springs Police officers as they tried to run from the scene.

According to officers, a pickup truck ran a red light at Academy Boulevard while driving east on Galley Road and crashed into a southbound car on Academy.

Two people were in the car and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officers did not release any information about the two people who ran from the truck.

The crash closed southbound Academy and all but one lane of northbound Academy around 5:35 a.m. All lanes are now open.
