PUEBLO, COLO. -- Colorado State troopers said two crashes that closed part of Highway 50 for two hours Wednesday morning are still under investigation.
According to troopers, an eastbound Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into the back of another Chevy around 7:45 a.m. The driver of the car that got hit saw that the crash was about to happen and turned the car slightly left to lessen the damage.
The truck caused the car to hit another in front of it before it crossed through westbound Highway 50 and ended up in a ditch.
The truck hit the same car the Chevy hit after it hit the Chevy, which caused that car to hit a fourth car.
Troopers said sun glare was a factor in that crash.
A few minutes later, a driver rear-ended another car that was stopped in the westbound lane due to the number of people in the area.
Five of the six cars involved in the crashes had to be towed, but there were no serious injuries.
The highway was down to one lane each way until about 9:50 a.m.
