FOUNTAIN, COLO. (AP) -- First lady Michelle Obama is starting a two-day campaign swing for her husband in Colorado.

The first lady campaigned in Fountain Wednesday and was headed to Durango for another rally. She scheduled a campaign visit to Castle Rock for Thursday.

Mrs. Obama said the economy has improved since her husband took office. She said he "inherited an economy in rapid decline."

Michelle Obama also talked up her husband's actions to expand Pell Grants and ensure equal pay for women.

The wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was campaigning in a different way Wednesday. She hosted ABC's "Good Morning America" and said her love of horses helped her overcome her fear that multiple sclerosis would put her in a wheelchair.
