Carbon monoxide detected at apartment complex, one dead

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Officials with the Colorado Springs Fire Department said one person has died after being exposed to carbon monoxide at a local apartment complex.

They said Hazmat crews were called to the Vista Peak Apartments on Potter Drive around noon Sunday.

Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the building was evacuated.

The CSFD said one person has died, and another is in critical condition.

No additional details have been released.
