Water main break forces Garden of the Gods Road closure

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Utilities crews are working to repair a busted water main along Garden of the Gods Road.

The water main break happened shortly after 1 p.m. Friday near Garden of the Gods and Chestnut. Water covering Garden of the Gods forced officials to close westbound lanes of traffic.

Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area as they work to clear the scene. They hope to be able to open one lane by 3 p.m.
