PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- Mitt Romney is using the unrest in the Middle East and Barack Obama's interview on "60 Minutes" to challenge the president's foreign policy.

The Republican presidential nominee Monday told a crowd at the Pueblo airport here that the country needs a president who will "shape events in the Middle East" rather than be "at the mercy of them." He also slammed Obama's characterization of the recent Middle Eastern turmoil on "60 Minutes" as "bumps in the road."

Romney's attacks on Obama's foreign policy have gotten him in hot water. His criticisms of the White House shortly after four Americans were killed in Libya drew sharp criticism even from some Republicans.

Romney was wrapping up a two-city Colorado swing Monday. He flew to Ohio after the rally.
