PUEBLO, COLO. -- Authorities have released the name of a man suspected in a fatal shooting in Pueblo.

PPD was called to the the 7-11 store at 905 West Northern where they say 25-year-old Matthew Zach Aldaz confronted his ex-girlfriend and 39-year-old Thomas Abeyta -- identified as the woman's "male companion" -- and fired several shots just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Abeyta was killed and several bullets were lodged in nearby homes and the convenience store.

The woman was not injured.

Investigators say Aldaz was speeding away from the shooting and was involved in a one-car crash on 1100 E. Northern after he fled the scene.

He was ejected from the vehicle and is being treated for serious injuries.
