Fort Carson soldier dies in Afghanistan

FORT CARSON, COLO. -- Sad news out of Fort Carson Monday night.

The Mountain Post said one of their soldiers died Sunday while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Officials with the post said 23-year-old Spc Kyle Robert Rookey died September 2 in Jalalabad, Afghanistan from a non-combat related incident.

Rookey was assisgned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

He was from Oswego, N.Y.
