EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Two days after announcing more information about the Waldo Canyon Fire investigation, U.S. Forest Service officials have retracted the statement, saying incorrect information was given out.

Officials announced Wednesday Colorado's most destructive wildfire of all time was started by a human, and investigators said in early July the fire had started along the Waldo Canyon Loop trail.

The agency is now saying at least some information related to the cause and origin of the fire was incorrect, but they haven't given any details on what exactly was inaccurate.

The investigation is ongoing, and no other information is being released.

A press conference scheduled by the Forest Service for Sept. 12 to discuss investigation updates has been canceled.
