CUSTER COUNTY, COLO. -- A Canadian woman who was driving in southern Colorado Thursday crashed her car into a tree and died east of Westcliffe.
Colorado State troopers said 80-year-old Shirley Goode was driving near mile marker 13 on Highway 96 about 10 miles east of Westcliffe around 5:54 p.m. when the car went off the road and hit a tree.
Goode was pronounced dead immediately.
Goode, a Kelowna, British Columbia resident, was the only person in the car, and no other cars were involved in the crash.
Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
