Voters approve Memorial Hospital lease

The people of Colorado Springs have decided the future of Memorial Health System Tuesday in the city's municipal election.

Issue 1A asked voters to approve or deny the city's plan to make Memorial Hospital a partner with the University of Colorado Health.

Voter turnout Monday night was strong at 40.9%

Voters, overwhelmingly voted in favor of leasing the hospital system.

83% voted yes.

Mayor Steve Bach was impressed with the numbers. He called it a "mandate."
