A Canon City man and his girlfriend have been arrested following a six month investigation by the Fremont County Combined Investigations Response Team.

Timothy Roath, 29 and his girlfriend Audrey Urban, 46 are being held on multiple charges including second-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

They're believed to be responsible for more than 20 burglaries of storage units and businesses in the last two years in Fremont, Custer and Chaffee counties.

Detectives uncovered more than $200,000 worth of stolen property.

After spending hundreds of hours inventorying and trying to identify owners of the stolen items, detectives were able to return only $20,000 worth of confiscated goods back to owners who had filed police reports.

Recovered property included motorcycles, a trailer mounted welder, tools, sporting goods, electronics, firearms, collectables and household goods.

With more than $180,000 worth of recovered items still unclaimed, detectives ask that anyone who has a storage unit in Fremont or surrounding counties, check their property and report any missing items to their local law enforcement.
