COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers said a Walgreens employee was threatened with a gun by a man who refused to pay for his items Thursday evening.

According to the employee, the man gathered several food items from the store in the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue, then walked out without paying for them.

The employee followed the man outside to confront him, and the man lifted up his shirt to show a gun in his waistband. He then threatened to shoot the employee, so the employee backed off while the man ran off on foot.

Officers searched the area but couldn't find the man and don't have a clear description of him. They are asking anyone with information to call them at (719) 444-7000.
