COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs City officials are closing Platte Avenue Saturday between Hancock Avenue and Union Boulevard from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for street repairs.
Construction crews will be completely paving and re-striping the road.
Traffic crews will have detours in place, and officials are urging drivers to use alternative routes if possible.
Lane closures, which are currently in place on Platte as crews work to improve safety areas, will continue until Thursday, Aug. 23 when the project is scheduled for completion.
All construction is dependent on weather, and any changes will be displayed on message boards in the area.
