CANON CITY, COLO. -- A wanted man in Canon City was arrested Tuesday evening, but not before a struggle with authorities lead to the man biting a deputy's leg.

Fremont County Sheriff's deputies said 23-year-old Uriah Thompson bit a deputy's leg when they were trying to arrest him.

Deputies went to the 1400 block of Poplar Avenue in Canon City to find Thompson, who was wanted on two city warrants.

Thompson bit the deputy when he and others were trying to take him into custody. He is being held on a $6,000 bond for second degree assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest. He also has a $2,023.50 bond for FTA/DUI and no bond for providing alcohol to a minor.

The deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment but released shortly afterwards.
