PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- A wheelchair-bound Pueblo man charged with attempted murder for stabbing his ex-wife is asking a judge to dismiss the case.
Brenden Mikus was arrested in 2011 after Pueblo County Sheriff's deputies found Mikus in the home and his ex-wife on the floor suffering from multiple stab wounds.
According to the Pueblo Chieftain, attorneys for Mikus say his ex-wife, Carla, forced her way into the home and was beating him when he found a knife in the pockets of a walker and stabbed her.
Carla Mikus was on the stand Wednesday and claimed her ex-husband slammed her foot with the door, punched her and pulled her into the house.
