COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- A funeral has been scheduled for next week for a Colorado Springs police officer who died after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle.

The service for Matthew Tyner will be Tuesday at New Life Church.

Tyner was conducting traffic enforcement at the time of the crash Tuesday afternoon. The collision is under investigation.

He joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in 1999 and served as a patrol officer, neighborhood resource officer and training academy instructor before becoming part of the motorcycle unit.
