PUEBLO, COLO. -- Pueblo Police officers arrested a man for murder in connection with a shooting death Sunday night in the city.
Officers arrested 21-year-old Randy Quaduor for second degree murder Monday, fewer than 24 hours after 40-year-old David Sanchez was shot and killed.
Sanchez, who drove to the area of Northern Avenue and Taylor Avenue to help friends in a car chase, was shot after he met the chasers and began fighting with them Sunday night. After he was shot, he tried driving but crashed two block away.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Officers also arrested 20-year-old Alejandro Anchondo for threatening Sanchez with a gun just before the shooting. Officers arrested him on a menacing with a deadly weapon charge for his threat during the confrontation between Sanchez and the group chasing his friends.
Anchondo also threatened another man with the gun, but that person wasn't hurt. Officers said Anchondo never fired any shots.
The investigation is ongoing.
