Police foil thief's plan to steal car

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man who tried stealing a car Sunday morning was caught by officers who were patrolling the area.

Colorado Springs Police officers arrested 25-year-old Nicholas Romero around 3:44 a.m. after chasing him down on foot.

Officers said the suspicious car was parked near East Lake Road and Airport Road, and Romero fled when they arrived. They chased him down and caught him in a backyard.

Romero was also caught with items he stole from that car and a previous car break-in.
