More evacuees allowed to return home

EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Officials with the city of Colorado Springs and El Paso County have released more evacuations, allowing more residents to return home.

Cedar Heights, which was the first evacuated neighborhood when the Waldo Canyon Fire started Saturday, is no longer under mandatory evacuation. Rockrimmon and Pinon Valley residents are allowed to return home, as well as residents north of West Woodmen Road who are in El Paso County jurisdiction.

Mandatory evacuations are still in place for areas West of 30th Street from Gateway Road to Centennial, Mountain Shadows, Cascade, Chipita Park, Crystola, Fairish and Carrol Lake areas off Rampart Range Rd., Green Mountain Falls, Mount St. Francis, Peregrine Subdivision, and Woodland Park (Ranch Estates and Holiday Hills).
