Holmes Middle School in Colorado Springs has turned into a restricted area within a week.

The vast land is now home to some 1,200 plus first responders and tactial teams providing support to battle the Waldo Canyon fire.

Bush Fire Services, Inc from London, Kentucky holds a national contract with the government to provide mobile shower facilities for those on the front lines.

Garrett Mathis manages the luxury units that provide a safe haven and relaxation after a hard days work.

"Well, if they did not have us, they'd be doing it in a creek" laughed Mathis.

He added "they go out and fight fires, and come back all black.  They need something to relax and get them by."

Mathis refers to the showers as a spa or therapy.

"They come in all frumpy and dirty, but when they come out they are all smiles" and that makes me feel good.

He said sometimes you can even hear first responders singing.

A 16 unit mobile shower is divded between both men and women.

It has cold and hot water.

Mathis said he even provides pina colda scented soap for the women who make up about 15 to 20% of the the tactial team.

One first responders told FOX21 a shower and good makes a world of difference after a hard days work.

The government also has a contractor on site that cooks and caters food to the men and women from both near and far.
