COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The command center expanded evacuations on Wednesday, adding pre-evacuation areas.
As of Wednesday about 35,000 people had been forced from their homes with thousands of others placed on high alert.
The City of Colorado Springs is now asking any person or family asked to evacuate from their community to fill out a notification form.
The information will be utilized to contact homeowners who are worried about the status of their homes.
Incident Commander Richard Harvey told Fox21 it would be 24 hours before an estimated number of homes destroyed would be released.
The ultimate goal is to respect and protect those affected, before information is made public to the media.
Three hotline numbers have been established for evacuees
719-520-7058
719-4207935
719-2024510
