15-year-old girl fights off rape attempt

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man Monday morning after he allegedly tried to rape a 15-year-old girl.

According to officers, the girl was in the 300 block of South Murray Boulevard when 25-year-old Olondo Valenzuela came up to her and forced her to the ground. The girl told officers Valenzuela then tried sexually assaulting her, but she was able to fight him off.

Valenzuela ran away when she kicked him and started screaming for help. She had minor injuries.

Officers caught Valenzuela nearby and arrested him, but they did not release any other information.
