COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Fire Chief Rich Brown is speaking out after a YouTube video criticizing him and Mayor Steve Bach surfaced on the internet.
The subtitled YouTube video (above) is a movie version of Hitler having a meeting with his inner circle while in a bunker.
The nearly four-minute video touches on some in-house problems and at one point takes aim at Bach saying "we've found a way to keep him happy" in reference to staffing issues for the city's two new fire stations.
But the majority of the video deals with personnel issues and how the fire chief is dealing with them. Hitler, who is presumed to be Chief Rich Brown, yells about walking into a fire station with half the staff asleep and in mismatched clothing.
In a written statement Chief Brown said:
"The Colorado Springs Fire Department fulfills our mission of providing the highest quality problem solving and emergency service to our community every day with pride. The insensitivity of a YouTube video posted recently is inexcusable. It is an unfair representation of the men and women on our Fire Department that work so hard to make our community a safer place to live. If we determine that public resources were used for the creation or dissemination of this distasteful and hateful communication, we will take appropriate action. City computer misuse may result in discipline, up to and including discharge."
