COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man early Thursday morning for an assault in 2011.
Officers responded to the 100 block of South Academy Boulevard around 1:42 a.m. after a caller told them two men were fighting. While on scene, one of the Spanish language interpreting officers recognized Maycon Yascon Perez-Carias as a suspect from a June 2011 assault.
When the officers interviewed Carias Thursday about the crime, he initially denied it, then later confessed.
Officers arrested Carias on second degree assault charges stemming from the June 30, 2011 incident. No one was arrested in connection with the fight.
