COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested a man who allegedly strangled his girlfriend and a 10-year-old child Saturday morning.
According to officers, 38-year-old Richard Arnold strangled his girlfriend and a 10-year-old child with both hands, leaving both with serious injuries. The woman lost consciousness.
Officers identified Arnold as the suspect, but he did not answer his door when they knocked. After repeated attempts to get Arnold to come out of the home, officers got a search warrant and found him in an upstairs bedroom.
Arnold is being charged with attempted second degree murder and other felony charges.
Officers did not say how the child is connected to the ciuple but said both victims are expected to be okay.
