EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to summer, and if you've got plans to go camping you might want to plan quick.
The three-day weekend means people are hitting the road and getting out of town.
It's good news for the Lone Duck Campground, they're booked to capacity this weekend.
"A little bit of rain here, and there and snow but mostly the weather has been great, and people are wanting to do tenting, RVing," Steve Mack, owner of Lone Duck Campground, said.
Warmer weather earlier in the season has turned into a boost in business after the campsite opened two weeks ahead of schedule.
And while the hotter then usual temperatures are a nice change, the U.S. Forest Service is urging fire safety.
"Usually if there's a fire ban we provide propane grills to cook on it can take a lot of the fun away but we do what we can," Lisa Mack, owner of Lone Duck Campground said.
There are currently no fire restrictions for this long holiday weekend but fire danger is very high.
