COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- 911 tapes from Saturday's three-alarm apartment fire have been released.

The fire happened around 7:30 p.m. at the Timbers Apartments located on Airport Road near Circle.

It destroyed 14 apartments and displaced 30 people.

Everyone escaped and no injuries were reported.

Fire investigators said the cause of the fire was accidental and it started when someone left food on the stove unattended.

The damage has been estimated at around $1.4 million.

The 911 tapes give an inside look at how frightening the scene was that night and why it is so important to pick up the phone.
