DENVER (AP) -- Coloradans are giving generously to political action committees this year.
Big donors include Joe Ricketts, an online-brokerage billionaire who gave $500,000 to a group that seeks to find fresh blood for politics, Evergreen business consultant Porter Bennett, who gave $150,000 to promote conservative values, and Renee Putsche, who gave $250 because she is disenchanted with the whole process.
According to the Denver Post, Colorado donors have given about $1 million so far under new rules that allow people to spend unlimited amounts of money to outside groups taking part in this year's election.
