3 teenagers killed in DUI crash

PUEBLO, COLO. -- Three teenage girls were killed in a DUI crash Saturday night in Pueblo.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Northern Avenue and Pueblo Boulevard.

The Pueblo Police Department said a Dodge truck, Chevy Cobalt, and Toyota SUV were involved in the crash.

Initial reports said the driver of the truck and ran the red light and struck the car.  The three girls inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner James Kramer identified the victims as 13-year-old Serina Sena, 14-year-old Selena Mascarenas and 18-year-old Anisa Montoya, all of Alamosa.

Investigators said two juveniles in the Dodge truck were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, 36-year-old Gilbert O. Sanchez of Pueblo, was also injured in the crash.

Police said after being treated at the hospital, Sanchez was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and DUI.

They said alcohol and speed contributed to the crash.

No additional details have been released.
