Man arrested after woman taken to hospital for drug overdose

LAMAR, COLO. -- Lamar Police officers have arrested a man Friday after a woman appeared to have overdosed on drugs.

Officers said they arrested 33-year-old Armando Hernandez after finding he had illegal drugs and had been in a fight in the 900 block of South Main Street. Officers also found a loaded syringe in the home.

A woman who officers said was Hernandez's companion was taken to the hospital to be treated for a possible drug overdose.

Hernandez was charged with three counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and has a $4,000 bond. He has been charged in connection with the woman's overdose.
