COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers made their first arrest in a series of crimes as they work on several related investigations.
Officers arrested 43-year-old Arthur Hickmon Thursday night after searching two places around 9:30 p.m. They said Hickmon is part of a string of mail theft, check fraud, forgeries, burglaries of homes, businesses and cars and drug-related crimes.
So far Hickmon has only been charged with check fraud.
Officers said the investigations involve the same people who are connected for the purpose of furthering criminal activity.
Hickmon was arrested in the 2400 block of Parmoor Village Drive. While officers were there, they also found sticks of dynamite, causing an evacuation of the apartment building. Nobody was hurt.
Officers continue to investigate these cases.
